The challenge

Helio Renewables had more project opportunities than capital. Each team argued for its own pipeline, and the board lacked a consistent way to compare a solar farm in one market with an offshore wind option in another.

Our approach

We created a common investment thesis and a risk-adjusted scoring model covering returns, permitting risk, grid access and policy exposure. Then we ran the whole pipeline through it with the investment committee in the room.

The outcome

Helio prioritised 4 GW of projects, committed a $1.2B capital plan and entered three new markets, with a decision process the board now trusts.
